Diablo IV still isn't where it should be, at least according to many players. With Season 4 there are major changes and they need a little more time.
Will Season 4 be a turning point for Diablo IV? We don't know it yet, but Blizzard has made an enormous effort and is now finally involving the community, because from April 2nd there will be a public test realm for the first time, at least for PC, where players can test the upcoming updates and give their feedback can submit.
However, due to the massive renovations in Season 4, this has an impact on the scheduling, as Season 4 was originally supposed to start during this period. Wouldn't have made much sense and so Blizzard quickly postponed the start of the season to May 14th and extended the current season accordingly until then. At least that's what Blizzard announced in yesterday's Campfire Chat.
Community Lead Adam Fletcher explained: “We're delaying the release for a few weeks to make sure we get all the feedback from this PTR and apply it to Season 4 so that all of these new system changes we're making are right and for the Community function based on everyone's feedback.”
Makes sense, because the changes are extensive and start with a complete renovation of the loot and crafting system, which should now be much more flexible and better tailored to builds. You can harden weapons and armor at the blacksmith by adding new manufacturing items and thus massively improve special values. A new masterworking system will then allow you to randomly increase any of the stats, including hardened stats, up to 12 times. The blacksmith's previous upgrade system goes into the trash.
In addition, the loot system will also be completely revised. In the future, items should have less complex values, certain attributes only drop for suitable classes (e.g. no strength items for magicians), legendary items in world rank 4 receive a higher item strength, uniques also drop in world ranks 1 and 2. Legendary and unique In the future, items should also be able to be exchanged with other players and there are numerous other improvements in detail. New endgame activities are also planned with new bosses and expanded hellfloods.
Blizzard plans to publish the full scope of the changes as patch notes next week, before the update goes to the PTRs for a week from April 2nd, where you can deal with it in advance. We are extremely excited to see what the changes will bring and how they will be received by players.
