MSI has provided new information about the MPG 272QPX gaming monitor that was revealed at CES 2024 earlier this year. The notable feature of this monitor is that it supports 1440p resolution and 500Hz refresh rate. In addition, the MPG 272QPX is equipped with Mini-LED backlighting.
At CES 2024 held in January this year, MSI introduced a variety of new QD-OLED monitors, including the MAG 341CQP QD-OLED and MPG 321URX QD-OLED, which have already gone on sale. However, the manufacturer still did not provide information about the release date of the MPG 272QPX monitor, which stood out against its background in several ways.
The MPG 272QPX is based on a 27-inch Rapid IPS matrix with a refresh rate of 500 Hz. Displays with this refresh rate are already on the market, but they all support 1080p resolution. The MSI monitor stood out with support for 1440p resolution, and it is also equipped with an advanced Mini-LED backlight with 1152 local dimming zones. In HDR mode, the new product offered a brightness of 1000 cd/m2. Such characteristics made this monitor truly unique.
According to TFTCentral, the MPG 272QPX, unfortunately, will probably never hit store shelves. Representatives of the company, in a conversation with the portal, noted that the MPG 272QPX is a “custom prototype monitor developed specifically for the CES exhibition.” According to TFTCentral, MSI is still unsure about developing new Mini-LED monitors and therefore cannot guarantee that the MPG 272QPX will eventually go on sale.
