March 21, 2024 at 6:30 p.m. – The polarizing WoW streamer Asmongold has spoken out again and shares his idea of how WoW could be “fixed”. But does World of Warcraft even need to be repaired?
Since what feels like three days after the release of World of Warcraft, you can always read opinions that WoW is basically dead, is on the verge of dying or will no longer make it to the next expansion. So far, all of these doomsayers have been wrong. WoW still exists, has plans for three more expansions in the works, and is in great health.
Of course, that doesn't mean that WoW (buy now) is free from any criticism. There have been many things that were not good in the past few years and there will be many things in the future too. On the whole, most players should be quite happy with the status quo.
Except Asmongold. The polarizing streamer has always had a very special opinion about WoW. Although he says he loves the game and is always playing it, he is not afraid to express his often very critical opinion. He often expresses himself much more drastically than others about the problems that WoW certainly has.

How to fix WoW – Asmongold Edition
Around the current Plunderstorm, in which players don't go into battle with their actual class skills, but rather play a very stripped-down version of WoW, Asmongold came around the corner with a new “idea”. Because he can hardly understand the criticism of Plunderstorm, but even sees the future of WoW in this game mode – at least to some extent.
He is particularly impressed by the few capabilities and the ban on add-ons. And so, as usual, he expressed his three suggestions clearly and drastically to “fix” WoW.
Maximum of ten skills per class/play styleThe complete ban on all addonsThe return of 40-man raids
In his eyes, the Plunderstorm shows that well WoW also works with significantly less complexity. And in the end it wouldn't matter much anyway. Because currently only very few classes use more than ten skills permanently.
The ban on all addons already causes very mixed feelings in Plunderstorm. It's not even about DBM, WeakAuras and Co., but rather about convenience addons that make your life easier. A complete ban would probably turn the world of WoW completely upside down for many players.
And at the same time it means a lot of work for the developers. Because there are some things that would then have to be adjusted. However, since in Plunderstorm they explicitly made sure that everything was clearly visible without add-ons, this could function as a kind of test balloon.
Latests upon the return of 40-man raids Most of the players probably left Asmongold's side. Only very few people seem to perceive this as a really good option. Especially in conjunction with a complete addon ban. Organizing and coordinating 40-player raids using in-game means is likely to be a bigger challenge than the bosses themselves.
In general, not many players seem to be enthusiastic about his ideas. While some people agree with him at a maximum of two points, many others see it more as a list to “destroy WoW” or “to kill WoW as quickly as possible”.

What do you think of these ideas? Do you agree with us that this would hardly “fix” Wow, but rather make it worse? Or are you on Asmongold's side and think it's very conceivable that WoW would sail into a better future with such drastic changes? We are excited to hear your opinions.
