March 22nd, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. – With Season 4 of Diablo 4, the ARPG is almost completely relaunched. One of the biggest changes is the long-announced itemization update. We have summarized what is changing in the itemization for you here.
So far you can find many different bonuses on items in Diablo 4, but the values and affixes are either boring, too niche or too similar. This makes combing through the inventory for good items particularly tiring. The developers of Blizzard's ARPG address these major points of criticism and discussed the major ones in the last Campfire Chat Itemization changes for Season 4 presents.
The motto of the “Itemization 2.0” update is Quality over quantity. In Season 4, fewer but better items will drop with a streamlined affix pool. Below you can see all the itemization changes that were discussed during the developer livestream.

“Itemization 2.0” also applies to the production of jewels and profession items. The Edelstein-System According to the developers, it should be simplified so that gems feel stronger. The fact that fewer items are now dropping should be compensated for by the fact that Forgotten Soul will also be out in the future Whisper Tree Chests and in rare cases also drop from elite opponents.
