UPD (22.03, 15:50): Publisher Capcom responded to players' criticism by stating that all items that are sold as paid DLC can be obtained for free in the game during gameplay. The only exception is the exclusive components from the Deluxe Edition.
Today the game Dragon's Dogma 2 was released, which received high marks from critics. However, players criticized the project, and Dragon's Dogma 2 currently has “mixed” reviews on Steam. At the same time, many people liked the gameplay and the game world, but they criticized “Capcom’s greed” and the desire to make money on microtransactions for a single-player game.
After the release of Dragon's Dogma 2, it was revealed that the game had a huge number of microtransactions. And these are not cosmetic items, but various in-game items and currencies that can help in the passage. For example, players can purchase for Dragon's Dogma 2:
Stone of awakening. The ability to revive a hero after death. Rift crystals. Used to recruit pawns within the game. Return crystal. Fast movement within the game. Keys to the dungeon. An opportunity to get out of prison. A pendant of soulfulness. Can be used as a valuable gift to strengthen a bond. Mysterious Rift Incense. Randomly changes the character of a pawn.
This is not a complete list of what you can buy in Dragon's Dogma 2 for real currency – from $0.99 to $4.99. Prior to the release of the role-playing project, microtransactions were not shown, and many players who purchased the Deluxe version are outraged by the virtual absence of some functions in the single-player game that should be purchased in addition.
The greatest dissatisfaction among players is the presence of a “donation only” fast travel function in Dragon’s Dogma 2. Previously, the developers repeatedly explained in interviews why they decided to make only one save in the game, but never said that it would be possible to pay for fast travel. In fact, this feature is included in the game, but it was removed from the public version in order to be sold separately.
