Novosibirsk studio Cyberia Nova presented a new development diary for the historical action role-playing game “Troubles”: a 37-minute video dedicated to one of the most discussed elements of the game – the combat system (gameplay is included).
According to producer Andrei Belov, unlike weapons and equipment, the fighting style in “The Troubles” does not pretend to be historically accurate – there is no verified data left on exactly how people fought in those days.
Belov assures that the combat system in Troubles is more complicated than it seems at first glance: calling out enemies “will not work.” The need to approach battles tactically arises quite quickly.
Light and heavy attacks, block, dodge and parry (requires timing) are the main elements of the combat system. There are also combos and mechanics for accumulating effects (critical damage, stun) with successive hits.
In Troubles, no more than five opponents will be able to fight with the main character at the same time (even in scenes with mass battles), and bosses (at least “for now”) will not have “phase.”
There will also be ways to avoid direct clashes in Troubles: choosing one image or another in certain situations, leveling up the intimidation or diplomacy parameter, stealth with distracting enemies and quiet finishing moves.
The release of “The Troubles” is expected on April 4 exclusively on VK Play, where the game will be sold for 2,015 rubles (1,612 rubles for pre-order). In anticipation of the launch, a “free training version” will be released with the opportunity to walk around Moscow.
