Pedro Pascal is in 2024 an essential actor in Hollywood who embodies some of the most important characters in popular culture. Between The Last of Us, Star Wars and Marvel, it is simply omnipresent in cinemas, but also on SVOD services (Disney+, Amazon Prime Video). However, his career got off to a rocky start. He could even have ended up homeless.
A role to save a career
It is not easy to find a place in Hollywood and Pedro Pascal can attest to this. His first years (and we're talking more than a decade) were a real obstacle course. He also returned to this period of his life with Entertainment Tonight last February during the 2024 Screen Actors Guild (or SAG) Awards. According to him, one role in particular allowed him to escape an extremely difficult situation. This is an appearance in the hit series Buffy the Vampire Slayer. He concludes by specifying that this role is “the reason why he was able to stay in Hollywood and not give up”.
My experience as a beginner lasted around fifteen years. And we talk about not being able to see a doctor, getting sick, having surgery, paying rent when I had less than seven dollars in my account. (…) A residual member of Buffy the Vampire Slayer appeared and saved the day. -Pedro Pascal
A bright future for Pedro Pascal
Pedro Pascal made himself known to the general public with his aerial and oh-so striking performance in the hit HBO series Game of Thrones. He played Oberyn Martell, a colorful character who meets a premature and unexpected end. The American-Chilean actor has since risen to the top of Hollywood with Narcos then the role of Din Djarin in The Mandalorian. He then becomes Joël in the event series The Last of Us. Then everything comes together. In 2022, he stars alongside Nicolas Cage in Tom Gomican's A Talent in Solid Gold, and 2024 promises to be even busier.
He will be Fink in the animated film The Wild Robot produced by DreamWorks studios and directed by Chris Anders before playing a major role in Gladiator 2 by Ridley Scott. At the same time, it runs la saison 2 de The Last of Us and signed on with Disney to play Reed Richards aka Mr. Fantastic in the film Fantastic Four (release scheduled for July 23, 2025). Pedro Pascal will then travel to the distant Star Wars galaxy in May 2026 to reprise the role of the Mandalorian in The Mandalorian & Grogu.
