Playstation games on the PC are no longer a rare phenomenon. Brands like God of War or Ratchet & Clank have been present on platforms like Steam or the Epic Games Store for some time. There have been a variety of headlines about PC ports in the past.
While Sony was able to open up a new market with its sales, titles like The Last of Us Part 1 stumbled massively from a technical point of view. Another title from the Sony cosmos, however, is facing potential problems in terms of sales figures.
Poor sales on PC?
Another game in the Horizon series was recently released on the PC. With the Complete Edition of Horizon Forbidden West, the second part of the successful series from Guerrilla Games is also available on Steam or in the Epic Games Store. The numbers for the game are currently causing a stir.
PCGamesN has explicitly made a comparison to the PC release of the first part, which could leave some people at Sony disappointed. If you compare the number of people who played the games on Steam when the two titles were released, a significant decline can be seen.
Around half of the players who once played Zero Dawn on the PC are now playing Forbidden West on the Valve platform. At the launch of the first title there were around 50,000 people, but in the case of the sequel it was around 25,000.
So what's wrong with Horizon Forbidden West (buy now €103.99 / €53.99) on the PC? Ian Boudreau throws up a few possibilities for PCGamesN, such as the release of Dragon's Dogma 2 or the fact that fans might want to complete the predecessor first. Furthermore, the first game was part of the original wave of Playstation games for the PC.
