The investigation is ongoing.
Following the results of the preliminary investigation into the terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall, Russian President Vladimir Putin addressed the nation. In the previous article, we already mentioned that Putin thanked the employees of special and emergency services, as well as concerned citizens who helped visitors to the concert hall evacuate from the danger zone. But most of the appeal, as you understand, directly touched upon the very fact of the terrorist act.
According to Putin, 11 suspects were caught and detained, including four perpetrators of the terrorist act. According to the preliminary results of the investigation, an escape route was organized for the terrorists: the criminals headed towards Ukraine, where a window was prepared for them to cross the state border.
All terrorists, their accomplices and the direct organizers of the terrorist attack, the head of state noted, “whoever they are,” will be identified and found, and fair punishment, retribution and oblivion await each of them. Investigative authorities, Putin added, will do everything to establish all the details of the crime.
“It is already obvious that we are faced not just with a carefully, cynically planned terrorist attack, but with a prepared and organized mass murder of peaceful, defenseless people. The criminals cold-bloodedly and purposefully set out to kill—to shoot our citizens, our children, at point-blank range,” the Russian President said.
Tomorrow, March 24, is a day of national mourning in Russia for those killed in the terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall.
