Dragon's Dogma 2 launched on March 22nd, but was not well received by all players. Performance problems on the PC were already known before the release. There were also DLCs and microtransactions that players did not expect and which they classified as “Pay to Win”. The Japanese studio Capcom apologized and vowed to improve. However, the fantasy title presents its users with other challenges.
Savegame cannot be deleted from the menu
There can be several reasons why you might want to clear your save in Dragon's Dogma 2. For example, botched missions, catching up on successes or screwing up puzzles. However, Capcom developers haven't made it easy for users to start a new game. In contrast to many other games, there is no option to delete the save status from the main menu in the fantasy role-playing game.
In addition, the game on Steam is backed up on your own computer and the Steam cloud. If you want to delete your save, you first have to turn off the cloud backup. This can be done in your own Steam library by right-clicking on Dragon's Dogma 2 and selecting the properties. In this menu, the option “Keep Dragon’s Dogma 2 saves in the Steam Cloud” must then be deactivated.
Next, go to the primary Steam folder, which for most players will be located under C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam. In the “userdata” folder, the folder with the name “2054970” must be opened. In the “2054970” folder, open the “Remote” folder and delete all the data in the “win64_save” folder. This will delete the old save and you can start a new game. Cloud saves can then be reactivated, replacing the old save once and for all.
