A new teaser shows scenes from the Penguin series about Gotham gangster Oswald Cobblepot. The show is a continuation of the story of Matt Reeves' film “Batman”. Starring Colin Farrell.
In the trailer, Penguin talks about a former crime lord who he apparently hopes to emulate. The video captures the gloomy atmosphere of Gotham and consists almost entirely of shots in darkness.
The Penguin series will debut this fall on Max and will have eight episodes. In addition to Colin Farrell, it stars Cristin Milioti, Renzi Feliz, Michael Kelly, Shohreh Aghdashloo, Deirdre O'Connell, Clancy Brown and Michael Zegen. Executive producers include Matt Reeves, Dylan Clark, Colin Farrell, Lauren LeFrank, who is writing and serving as showrunner, Craig Zobel, who will direct the first three episodes, and Bill Carraro.
The cinematic sequel to Robert Pattinson's 2022 film The Batman is set to release on October 2, 2026, after a year of delay. Not much is known about the sequel, which the director announced with James Gunn and Peter Safran back in early 2023. Gunn confirmed that Batman. Part 2 will continue Matt Reeves' crime saga trilogy, which includes the Penguin television series.
Although Batman Part 2 will not be part of the shared DC universe, Gunn said the film will not be a “stepchild” – Warner Bros. “Fully invested in the success of The Batman.” Gunn and Safran are planning their own Batman movie for the DCU called The Brave and the Bold, expected in 2026 or 2027.
The third “Venom” will be released earlier (October 2024), and the sequel to “Batman” with Robert Pattinson “flew” in 2026.
