It has been known for a few months now that the 7th season of the superhero adventure „My Hero Academia“ will start on Japanese TV on May 4, 2024. During AnimeJapan 2024, the makers of the hit anime confirmed that four recap episodes will run in April before the fight between Izuku and his friends against the villain Tomura Shigaraki and his followers finally enters the next round a month later.
Like the first 6 seasons, Season 7 is also being created in the renowned Bones studio (“Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood”). Naomi Nakayama (“Orange: Mirai”) holds the position of director. The adventures of Subaru, Emilia and their friends will continue with season 3 of the anime series from October 2024.

Harley Quinn, Deadshot and other members of Task Force X end up in “Suicide Squad ISEKAI“ soon into a dangerous fantasy world. How exactly this will happen is still unclear, but all sorts of dragons and other monsters await the DC Comics anti-heroes in this new location. During AnimeJapan 2024, those responsible announced that the upcoming anime series would start in the summer, more precisely in July.
The crazy DC adventure is being created by the “Attack on Titan” makers at WIT Studio, with Eri Osada (“JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond Is Unbreakable”) directing. AnimeJapan 2024 highlight #6: The pharmacist's diaries are getting a second season
The adventures of the young woman Maomao in “The Pharmacist’s Diaries” are among the biggest anime hits of the last few months. Now fans have every reason to be happy, because the light novel adaptation is getting a sequel in the form of a second season next year! Those responsible celebrated the good news not only with a new key visual, but also with a first teaser trailer.
However, the makers did not reveal any further details during AnimeJapan 2024. It is therefore currently unclear which team will take care of Season 2. Season 1 was created as a joint production between the studios OLM (“Pokémon Journeys: The Series”) and TOHO Animation (“Jujutsu Kaisen”). The 24 episodes, which you can watch on Crunchyroll, were directed by Norihiro Naganuma (“The Ancient Magus' Bride”).
AnimeJapan 2024 Highlight #7: WIT Studio reinterpret Grimm's fairy tales in The Grimm Variantions
Even today, every child still knows the famous fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm. Cinderella, Hansel and Gretel and Little Red Riding Hood are just some of her well-known works. But what if the stories of these literary classics had all been a little different? Studio WIT (“Seraph of the End”) asked itself this question, which interpreted six well-known fairy tales in a modern way based on a script by Michiko Yokote (“Bleach”).
More specifically, in the dark fantasy series you can look forward to retellings of “Cinderella”, “The Pied Piper of Hamelin”, “The Bremen Town Musicians”, “The Gnomes” and “Little Red Riding Hood”. The well-known fairy tales are in „The Grimm Variantons“ By the way, it's not told by Jacob and Wilhelm, but by their sister Charlotte, who has a pretty dark view of her brothers' works.
