March 24, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. – Season 4 of Diablo 4 has so many small and large changes in store that one quality-of-life change has almost been overlooked: the option for better zoom.
The next big update for Diablo 4 changes so much to Blizzard APRG that the associated season 4 had to be postponed by a month. The focus is on itemization, but also a number of other endgame contents that are turned on their head. During the Campfire chat, the devs once again teased a feature that they've been using for a while but never made available to players: being able to zoom out more.
That will change in Season 4. According to community manager PezRadar, in Season 4 you will play with the previously known camera setting by default, but you will then get one in the settings second option for more zoom.
Finally zoom out further

One is a standard zoom function as currently available in the game. The other will be a “Far” function, which some noted yesterday (in the Campfire chat).
On some platforms such as PC (but not Steam Deck), the Wide Zoom feature is used by default. There will be a new option in the menu to change this to default as well. Steam Deck can change this as well, but I'll just note that the default setting is Standard Zoom.
The consoles will also have these two options. The team did some additional performance testing for this as it increases the draw distance and adds a few more things to the screen. If players experience performance issues during the PTR, please let us know in the PTR forums when they open. It's important for us to realize this.
On Reddit, players are already showing off the difference Zoom will make in Season 4. This change is particularly a blessing for ranged fighters or classes that use long-range abilities. The desire for better zoom has been a wish of players since the beta last year.
