While Nvidia is well ahead of AMD in global graphics card sales, Radeon models are comparatively popular in the German end customer market. This is shown, among other things, by the sales figures on Mindfactory, which were summarized again this week by X/Twitter user @TechEpiphanyYT. AMD is in the lead there with 1,585 units sold, followed by Nvidia with 1,335 graphics cards and Intel with only ten models.
Surprising sales figures
A closer look at the models sold reveals a surprise. Accordingly, around ten Radeon RX 580 graphics cards were sold last week. So seven-year-old models from AMD's Polaris generation, which has now been overhauled three times, were sold over the virtual counter.
The graphics cards sold are probably the XFX RX 580 GTS Core, which costs almost 150 euros and has 8 GiBytes of memory – because another variant is simply no longer available from Mindfactory. And it gets even stranger: Mindfactory is currently reordering the old graphics card. It seems that there are still stocks outside of our own warehouse. Of course, a real comeback is not to be expected. Given their age, Polaris graphics cards will remain a marginal phenomenon.

It's completely different with the currently best-selling graphics card on Mindfactory: AMD's Radeon RX 7800 XT was able to take first place by a clear margin last week. A total of 300 units were sold, followed by 220 models of the Geforce RTX 4070 Super and 200 units of the Radeon RX 7900 XTX. The recent price development is also likely to be responsible for the success of the RX 7800 XT. The currently cheapest model, the Powercolor RX 7800 XT Fighter, has only cost around 510 euros for a few days now. Previously, however, around 540 euros were required.

Looking at the overall sales figures, AMD can score points in terms of unit numbers, but Mindfactory made its biggest sales with Nvidia models. At 51 to 49 percent, the company is just ahead of the competition here. Intel, on the other hand, plays a significant role neither in terms of unit numbers nor in sales. That could probably only change with the Battlemage graphics cards, which – like the new generations from AMD and Nvidia – are expected to appear by the end of the year.
