03/25/2024 at 3:00 p.m. – Very few players even dare to play Diablo 4's hardcore mode. And with the upcoming season 4, this mode will be even more difficult.
During the latest developer livestream on March 20, Diablo 4 devs have one very important change for hardcore players announced. Elixir of Death Escape is removed from the game! The 30-minute buff still protects the wearer from death and makes them immune to damage for two seconds after a fatal hit – enough time to get to safety with Scroll of Flight.
With season 4 This will no longer be possible and may lead to significantly more hardcore deaths than in previous seasons. The developers want death in Hardcore mode to feel final and not something that can be avoided with a potion.
Wizard skill is also changed

During the Campfire chat, the developers showed a graphic showing the Flameshield rework in Season 4 (see image above). Previously, Flame Shield automatically activated when you took fatal damage. In Season 4, the effect triggers when you have lost a total of 100% of your life points.
This means that the ability still fulfills a defensive role and triggers before death if you heal in between or have other absorption effects active. In Season 4, hardcore players will have significantly more problems, but will be able to forgo farming the materials for the Death Escape Elixir. At least hardcore players still have the Scroll of Escape, which they can use to teleport away in an emergency. What do you think of this change for hardcore players in Season 4?
