Arriving April 18, the secondo DLC di Final Fantasy 16, The Rising Tide, will add a new explorable region, Mysidia, and Leviathan as a new Eikon to allow players to fight in new ways and gain original abilities. DLC director Takeo Kujiraoka confirmed that there will be a further surprise at the end of the DLC.
During an interview with Famitsu, Kujiraoka stated that one Epilogue mission for Final Fantasy 16 it will become available after completing both of its DLCs, Echoes of the Fallen and The Rising Tide. The quest aims to thank the players, with game director Hiroshi Takai looking forward to players' reactions. At the moment no further details are shared, with Square-Enix evidently preferring not to ruin the surprise for fans.
The Rising Tide will last around 10 hours and, along with a new story, also features a new survival mode called Kairos Gate. Players will fight through 20 levels of increasing difficulty, earning points to improve their skills and earning new items and weapons. There will also be the inevitable boss fights and, for those who obtain the S rank on Final Fantasy difficulty, there will also be a secret level with an attached boss.
In the meantime, Yoshi-P's words seem to leave the doors open to the arrival of Final Fantasy 16 on Xbox.
