Apple is the one that sells the most smartphones on the face of the earth, a fact that we really have to give a lot of importance to, because while Samsung, Xiaomi, etc… They sell devices from €99 to €2000, Apple only sells high-end devices starting at around €1000.
Apple has been growing absurdly, investing in a strategy that has borne fruit (almost) every year. After all, in a winning team you don't change, and Apple is undeniably one of the greatest examples of the success of this exact way of being and doing.
However, the world of smartphones is changing again, the Android world has already realized that it cannot continue to follow the same path. This while on its side, Apple seems to remain very focused on what it knows how to do, instead of trying to innovate by presenting a new and renewed strategy.
The Android ecosystem seems to be gaining strength!
Android in 2024 is putting pressure on Apple!
Therefore, in addition to the investment in Artificial Intelligence throughout the Android ecosystem, and the madness that has been the image capture capacity of new high-end devices, it is undeniable that the high-end Android smartphone in 2024 is much more interesting.
But it doesn't stop there!
One of the biggest problems with the Android ecosystem in recent years, which has actually helped Apple a lot, has been the increase in price across all price ranges, especially the always very important mid-range.
This caused several consumers to give up on the Android ecosystem to opt for an entry-level iPhone. After all, it may be a “More Expensive” experience, but the consumer benefits from years of updates/support, and of course, even the cheapest iPhone is considered a serious top of the range.
This is exactly why we have seen a good bet on the mid-range by manufacturers such as Xiaomi (Redmi Note 13), Nothing (Phone (2a)), and apparently, even Google itself will make a good bet on its Pixel 8a.
In fact, the Pixel 8a It will be so good, when it arrives on the market equipped with everything that really matters. Including all the AI that brings the Google smartphone camera module to life!
What is clear is that it may even be able to put some pressure on Apple to finally launch a really interesting iPhone SE.
This without ever forgetting the impact that the new Snapdragon 8s Gen3 SoC could have on the Android market. After all, we are talking about a processor with the capacity to create “almost” high-end smartphones, at prices starting at €500.
The iPhone SE 4 is almost ready, but… Apple never had much desire to launch it.
After all, why launch a cheaper iPhone, with lower profit margins… When things are going so well with the 4 usual models? It's a way of thinking that makes sense, but things are changing, and Apple will have to move.
First of all, what do you think about all this? Are we going to see a market transformation? Or will it all work out the same at the end of the day? Share your opinion with us in the comments box below.
