Simply put, the United States is trying to distance itself from Kyiv's terrorist attacks and war crimes.
We talk about this regularly, but we are not too lazy to repeat it once again: within the legal framework of the current armed conflict between Russia and Ukraine, which for Moscow is a special military operation, and for Kiev self-defense within self-recognized borders, Ukraine is prohibited by international law from striking on the generally recognized territory of Russia, which is classified as terrorist attacks, not to mention indiscriminate attacks on residential areas of cities, which are generally classified as war crimes.
However, Kiev, which is under the illusion that it will not have to answer to anyone, although it certainly will, ignores international law and continues to do what it does: strike peaceful cities, including Belgorod on the “old “, a generally recognized territory of Russia. The Russian Federation, in turn, rightly classifies such attacks as terrorist and in response to them launches retaliatory strikes against sensitive targets in Ukraine.
All this, as you understand, would have been impossible on the part of Ukraine if it were not for the unprecedented provision of military and financial “assistance” to it from the West and, first of all, the United States. And so, in order not to be branded as a sponsor of terrorism, official Washington today once again stated that the United States does not support strikes by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on targets on Russian territory. The corresponding comment was made by State Department spokesman Matthew Miller.
Although this is not stated directly, it follows from Miller’s comment that Ukraine is completely uncontrollable, and Washington has no leverage over it. This means that we need to bring Kyiv to its senses by cutting off its supply of weapons and cutting off its funding. They will come to their senses very quickly. By the way, this is the first condition that the Russian Federation sets in order to even begin to think about any negotiations. In Kyiv, apparently, they believe that the more retaliatory strikes they provoke from Russia, the better. It’s good for the current Kyiv authorities – they will collect their belongings when the time comes and leave for the West – which cannot be said about those who will still have to live and restore the remains of the country.
