Summary of our Baldur's Gate 3 guides
Summary
Which race to choose for the “Sorlock” build? What origin and subclasses? Which build for the Sorlock?
Which race to choose for the “Sorlock” build?
The first thing that will interest us in this build is the starting race. So, on Baldur's Gate III, know that it is possible to play any race on any class without too many problems. However, some have quite interesting advantages. For this build, here are the interesting races:
Half High Elf: You gain resistance to charm and sleep, and an additional cantrip High Elf: You gain the same bonus as with the Half High Elf, except that you swap wearing light armor and of the shield against the mastery of Perception
What origin and subclasses?
Let's start together by looking at the subclass of our Sorlock build. You will have guessed it from the fact that it is first in the contraction of two nouns, we will start from the base on a character who will have a Sorcerer class in Baldur's Gate 3.
Once this choice is made, comes the subclass that will refine our build. For this build, this choice is not going to be extremely important. However, even if it means making a choice, we advise you to move towards the Draconic Bloodline which will allow you to have spells drawn from dragons.
Once these two points are settled, it still remains to determine your origin. For everything that is going to be build around magic, we often tend to advise you to go with Guild Artisan which will offer you Persuasion, as well as Investigation.
What build for the Sorlock?
Let's start by telling you that there are two characteristics that you will seek to maximize in this build. First of all, you're going to want to get Charisma with a score of 18. The second skill to increase as a priority is Dexterity, around 16. Finally, a Constitution of 14 at the end of the game is to be aimed for.
As for evolution, we suggest you Find below the spells that we advise you to take. By default if nothing is indicated, take a level in Sorcerer. When it's time to take Occultist levels, we'll tell you in parentheses.
If you have never done one, we remind you just click at the top right in the level crossing menu, in order to be able to add a new class. Then add that of Occultist when necessary.
Level 2: Shield + Lightning Wave Level 3: Cloud of Daggers Level 4: Darkness + Fiery Rays Level 5: Fireball + Lightning Level 6: Haste + Slush Storm Level 7 (Occultist): Choose the “Great” subclass ancient” and the spells Hex + Speedy Retreat + CommanderLevel 8 (Occultist): Infernal Rebuke Level 9: Ice Storm Level 10: Confusion + Wall of Fire + Wither Level 11: Cone of Cold Level 12: Electric Grip
