At the beginning of December, Elon Musk demonstrated the symbiosis of his two business initiatives: the Grok chatbot developed by xAI became available to subscribers of the social network X who chose the most expensive Premium+ tariff. This week, the billionaire said that these opportunities will also open up for subscribers of the more affordable Premium tariff.
So far, this promise, as Reuters explains, is not accompanied by any additional details. It is only clear that to access the artificial intelligence chatbot Grok, users of the social network X will have to pay smaller amounts. For example, in the US, with a monthly payment, a Premium subscription costs $8 versus $16 for Premium+. If you pay for the year in advance, the difference is $84, since the Premium+ subscription in this case costs $168.
The Premium subscription in its original form reduced the number of advertisements viewed by the user, expanded the possibilities for monetizing its own content, provided priority in the positioning of reply messages, and also provided verification of the X account. Premium+ users were freed from the need to view advertisements in certain sections, were able to publish long texts and videos, and since December last year, only they had access to the Grok chatbot. This right will soon be extended to Premium subscribers as well. This month, Elon Musk also promised to open source the chatbot Grok.
