“Diablo 4” has received update 1.3.5. It brought ray tracing to consoles and PC. Players are not completely happy with it and complain about problems with performance.
“Diablo 4” has received a new update to version 1.3.5 across all platforms. It addresses some of the errors that have previously marred the fun of the game. But there is also a new feature.
The first point of the changelog for update 1.3.5 from “Diablo 4” is dedicated to the introduction of ray tracing. This means that light and shadow are literally close together. Players are complaining about significant performance issues.
Enjoy the feast for the eyes, advises Blizzard
In one extensive blog entry Blizzard goes into more detail about the graphical advantages of ray tracing and shows the differences in “Diablo 4” using a few images.
“Enjoy the eye candy of improved ray tracing graphics. It improves the quality of textures such as fur, hair and fog. Shadows respond more realistically to light sources at different distances, and many reflections are improved,” said Blizzard about the new graphics setting.

In order not to “impair overall performance,” the new feature is “set to 30 FPS throughout,” but this apparently only has a limited effect.
Players complain about poor performance
Players are complaining on social networks that “Diablo 4” has performance problems with ray tracing.
The differences are also less noticeable than hoped. “I tried it on the PS5 and had to turn it off. The graphical improvements didn't seem very noticeable. But I noticed that the smooth gameplay was lost,” writes a user on Reddit.
Another added that he was only able to see the differences by comparing them with screenshots. “The only thing I noticed was improved shadows and a poor frame rate (well below 30). No reflections, no better ambient occlusion, nothing. Make it work,” he advises.
In the Blizzard Foren There is even talk that “Diablo 4” with activated ray tracing on PS5 and Xbox Series X is still playable because the frame rates drop too much.

Changelog for Diablo 4 update 1.3.5

There was a bug where the portal entrance to the challenge didn't use any cosmetic items for portals.
Blizzard also addressed a bug that prevented the ability to interact with certain things as soon as “Corpse Vines” in “Diablo 4” had the same key assignment as “Interact”.
In the second half of the “Path of the Blind” dungeon, elite opponents should now appear correctly. And fixed a bug that prevented some cosmetic tombstones from appearing in the dresser.
Unspecified improvements were also made to performance, stability and graphics.
