The Russian game console so far exists only on behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin, and among the developers there is already someone ready to port their projects to the future domestic console.
Product Director of the multiplayer tank action game “World of Tanks,” Andrei Lysak, said in an interview with TASS that the Lesta Games studio agrees to transfer its games to the Russian console.
Lysak emphasized that Lesta “always stands for domestic developers” and called on the industry to “look forward.” The studio is also ready to help with the process of creating the console itself.
Lysak admits that creating a console and porting games to it will require a lot of time and a “huge” amount of resources – we are talking about both financial and intellectual costs.
The head of the information and analytical agency Telecom Daily, Denis Kuskov, shares a similar opinion. According to him, the creation and implementation of the console can last from three to five years.
The five-year development plan for the Russian gaming industry, presented a month ago, mentions the appearance of domestic consoles (“at least one”) in the period from 2026 to 2027. The project, however, requires a leader.
Putin’s order to consider the issue of organizing the production of game consoles, as explained by the presidential press service, is aimed “at creating Russia’s own gaming industry.”
