As the steadily declining number of players on Steam clearly shows, the big hype surrounding Palworld – the Pokémon with weapons – is now long over. From its all-time high, player numbers on Valve's game distribution platform have fallen by more than 96 percent, according to SteamDB's database. Of the previously more than 2 million simultaneous players, today only 80,000 (peak yesterday) remain.
Palworld goes from comet to shooting star
After the meteoric rise that quickly brought Palworld more than 2.1 million concurrent players on Steam and a total of 25 million players across all platforms, the trend of the open world developed by Pocket Pair and known as “Pokémon with weapons” is showing -Survival crafting game now unmistakably one-way. The former comet is slowly becoming a shooting star and is threatening to burn up and the players are leaving.
