Toys for Bob separated from Activision and Microsoft, and this led us to believe that the development studio had abandoned the Crash Bandicoot and Spyro the Dragon franchises, of which it had handled the most recent chapters.
This is not the case, according to Canadian YouTuber Guy Eh, who said he received information about the future of Toys for Bob. After having given life back to the series dedicated to the purple dragon with Spyro Reignited Trilogy, it seems that the now independent development company has given work begins on the next main Spyro chapter.
The content creator claims to have come into contact with numerous internal sources, who all reported the same version of events: Spyro 4 has been in development since January this year at Toys for Bob. Apparently, therefore, the project is still in the initial stages of work, and in all likelihood we will have to wait a long time before an official presentation.
Also interesting to note is Toys for Bob would thus continue to collaborate with Microsoft and Activision, net of its separation from the Redmond giant. Evidently, the software house prefers to select the projects to work on with greater autonomy, and dedicate itself to the titles that developers feel most comfortable with. Among these, there also seems to be Spyro 4, which we hope to hear about soon.
