Little by little, WhatsApp has given users more and more possibilities. And according to WABetaInfo's latest discovery, the next step is to send HD images and videos through the platform.
This functionality is, for now, only available to Beta users on Android. But through the image shared below, we can perfectly understand how everything will happen. Because it will be an automated process.
Users will now be able to define the quality of the videos and images they send
In the storage and data menu, users can now choose the “multimedia loading quality”. You can choose between “standard” quality, faster and with a smaller size, or “HD”, which is slower to send and up to 6 times larger. .
Remember that, since August last year, WhatsApp started allowing you to send photos in high quality, in their maximum resolution. However, users have to make the choice manually for each image. With this update this is no longer necessary.
The new feature began to appear in Beta version 2.24.7.17 of Android. This possibility can be easily activated or deactivated by users. Therefore, you can go down to “standard” on a daily basis and use “HD” effectively when necessary.
New feature will be available first for Android
For now, Beta users will test this version and see if there are any major errors. Once this is clarified, you can count on receiving this new feature in the final version of WhatsApp for Android. However, there are still no details about possible availability for iOS.
