There is no talk of a new postponement of the release date.
After the release of a demo version of the space strategy Homeworld 3, the game was postponed for two months: fans actively criticized some aspects of the project. Now the developers from Blackbird Interactive have revealed what they plan to do about this.
In two months, the studio intends to make changes to several important aspects of the game at once. First of all, the changes were dictated by criticism from players who played the demo version.
The controls will be redesigned: it will become more intuitive and closer to the previous parts of the Homeworld series. The default camera will become faster, almost all keys will be re-binded. A legacy control scheme will appear, inspired by Homeworld 2. Battles will become longer, the durability of all ships has increased by 30%. When using formations, ships will no longer freeze in place, and the formations themselves will become more organic. The duration of abilities will be increased, but their recovery time will also increase. Support frigates will learn to independently heal friendly ships. The attack will be arranged in the same way as in previous games, and the interface will be able to display simultaneously both a red line (it shows who the units are attacking) and a green line (it shows the direction of movement). The interface scale setting will appear.
The developers will also make some balancing changes. For example, during missions, twice as many targets may appear as before.
Homeworld 3 is still scheduled for release on May 13, 2024.
