The popular hardware monitoring tool HWiNFO64 from developer REALiX, which is now simply called HWiNFO after 32-bit support was removed, has an overlay display, a so-called on-screen display, as well as some in the latest version 8.0 get new features. In addition, support for two old operating systems and the 32-bit installation routine will also be canceled, as the very detailed release notes from the development team reveal.
Source: REALiX While Windows XP and Windows Vista are understandably no longer supported, the 32-bit version is only available as a portable app. The biggest innovation is the on-screen display (“OSD”), which can visualize the system and diagnostic data using an overlay. The freeware version is limited to a maximum of five parameters, which can be preconfigured and exchanged using the tool settings.
Source: REALiX The position, transparency as well as the parameters and metrics of the OSD can also be fine-tuned using the settings and adapted to personal needs. After restarting the tool, the changes are applied, although the implementation in this version still seems somewhat unstable.
