2024 will be full of adaptations of all kinds, but without a doubt one of the ones that resonates the most is Borderlands. The film inspired by the successful Gearbox title will finally hit theaters this summer, and as expected, one of the actors involved will be Jack Black.
Through an interview with the American media GamesRadar+, Black spoke at length about his experience voicing Claptrap in the live-action adaptation of the most successful looter shooter in recent years, stating that his character will be like “R2-D2 for adults”.
“I love voice acting. I also love this video game, so it was fun to be able to voice this character. It's a cool, fun little twist, and another opportunity to bring a great video game to the big screen. We're in the midst of a voiceover renaissance. video game movies, and I'm thrilled to be a part of it.”
Black assures that Claptrap is one of his favorite characters in the franchise, and the reality is that his personality is very appropriate to play this armed robot. In the end, his role will focus much more on gags and especially jokes and pranks related to the universe. Borderlands.
It is clear that Black is a lover of video games and without a doubt he wants to continue seeing more titles hit the big screen. In fact, in this same interview he revealed that he would love to see a movie inspired by Red Dead Redemption or Grand Theft Auto. Borderlands will hit theaters around the world on August 9, 2024.
