Although Apple will only launch a new version of its affordable model next year, it is already working on the model's supply chain and production line. But the OLED screen, one of the new features of the iPhone SE 4, put Apple and Samsung in confrontation.
Tim Cook's company wanted Samsung Display to be the supplier of this type of screen for the iPhone SE 4. The South Korean brand accepted and presented a budget of 30 dollars for each panel.
Apple refused this value, wanting to reduce it to 25 dollars. Samsung Display did not give in and even left the negotiating table. With the South Korean giant out of this process, Tim Cook will have to look for partners in the Chinese industry.
The well-known manufacturer BOE is at the forefront and could be the supplier of OLED panels for the next iPhone SE.
Expected specifications on iPhone SE 4 (rumors)
Several rumors have already come forward with some of the specifications that we can expect to see in the new iPhone SE 4. As already mentioned, the model will have an OLED screen. But this is not the only change to the panel that will also gain in size, becoming a generous 6.1 inches.
Thanks to European Union legislation, a USB Type-C port will be included on the terminal. Apparently, the TrueDepth system, for the first time, will also allow users to perform Face ID authentication on an SE model.
Otherwise, the iPhone SE 4 could adopt a similar design to the iPhone 14 and is expected to also gain an action button that can function as a custom shortcut key.
