Google says it has moved the NFC antenna on its Pixel 11 smartphones to the top area of the device to make things like mobile payments and using the new Tap to Share feature easier and more logical.
Manufacturers often place NFC antennas on smartphones to make them easier to use – and when that doesn’t work, it’s not easy to remember where they are. Logically, it should be at the top of the phone, and on the iPhone it is. But on the Google Pixel and some other Android smartphones, it usually appears in a different location – near the center on the back of the device. Fortunately, change in the right direction is long overdue.
Following the Samsung Galaxy S26 series, Google Pixel 11 devices also arrive “Updated NFC Tag” at the top of the body.
