The outlet noted that the project has received an ESRB rating for current consoles, and the news could be announced as early as Gamescom 2026.
Take-Two and 2K have yet to reveal plans to update the first Mafia remake to current-gen consoles. But after the release of “Mafia: The Old Country” last year, the project was well received by the audience. Hangar 13 recently announced DLC for the game and admitted that the new product exceeded expectations. Against this backdrop, the publisher may decide to update Mafia: Definitive Edition.
The current version of Mafia: Definitive Edition runs at 1440p and 30 FPS on Xbox Series X and 900p and 30 FPS on Xbox Series S. If the game receives an update, there’s a good chance you’ll be able to achieve 60 frames per second on Xbox Series X | S and Playstation 5.
Please note that Mafia: Definitive Edition was previously available on Game Pass, but is no longer included in the subscription. However, in the Microsoft Store, the project is currently selling for $5.99, down from the usual price of $39.99. The sale ends tomorrow – August 14th. Will Xbox Series X get an upgrade?
