The long-awaited PlayStation 5 exclusive “Marvel’s Wolverine” from Insomniac Games is scheduled to be released on September 15, 2026, but has been met with a wave of ridicule on social networks. Users actively teased the project, comparing the battle with the Guardian boss in the trailer to outdated PS2-era projects, such as Ben 10: Protector of the Earthas well as making fun of the basic mechanics.

Similar negativity affected the development team: James Stevenson, Director of Communications at Insomniac, admitted on Social Network Experts say the root of the animosity lies not in the exclusivity itself but in a general fatigue among audiences with Sony’s usual blockbuster formula and a bitter dissatisfaction with the company’s digital media policies.

However, despite the ridicule on the Internet, this had little impact on the game’s commercial success: Marvel’s Wolverine Confidently remaining at the top of the list of most booked projects in the U.S., behind giants like grand theft auto 6 and series NBA 2K.
