August is already full of interesting releases, and the closer we get to September, the more releases there are. Next week, August 17-21, more than 30 games are scheduled to be released on Xbox consoles. There are several long-awaited projects on this list.
Main releases this week
Backyard Baseball (August 18). An updated version of the classic baseball program first introduced in 1997. The game retains the recognizable elements of the original and expands them with modern features. It offers 30 characters, 24 teams and 11 stadiums, 6 modes. The game was released on Steam in July and received “mostly positive” reviews.
The Sinking City 2 (August 18). An action horror film with survival elements, the story takes place in the flooded Arkham in the 1920s. The story is based on Lovecraft’s work, and the developers are promising a recognizable gameplay experience in the sequel, with an emphasis on exploration but with more action.
“Mortal Shell 2” (August 20). In the sequel, the developers expanded the RPG system and redesigned the combat mechanics. The basis of the project is still the combat system in the spirit of soulslick, but the developers have made the system more dynamic than in the first part. game itself Can be tried as part of the beta.

Currently, we only know of two Game Pass projects next week, and neither of them are new:
- Egging On (August 18) – Premium Edition, now available on Ultimate and PC
- Star Sand Island (version 1.0) (August 18)
Microsoft is expected to announce Game Pass games for the second half of August earlier this month.
