The developer of third-person MOBA Ethereal: Clash of Souls has announced plans for its next open beta. It is expected to take place over three days in October 2026, but the exact date has not yet been announced. The beta program introduces updated 6v6 maps, matchmaking, bots, and redesigned abilities for heroes and classes.
First, the gem item system has been simplified. Previously, the item gained a passive effect immediately upon purchase, and after four gems were installed, it was replaced with another. Now the passive effect remains the same, but increases after filling all four cells. At the same time, the team balanced the cost of items and the properties of gems so that the same gems always provide the same rewards.
The team redesigned more than 80 projects. We’ve added two new familiars: Phantom Armor and Medusa. Three heroes, including Malaya, Leia, and Exio, have been redesigned. We also changed the location of monsters on the map.
According to the team, the project has currently completed about 50% of the preparations for early access, and about 90% of the preparations for the next open test. In August, the developers plan to complete map changes, redo as many hero abilities as possible, implement new professional abilities, and increase internal measurements. Details on what will be tested in October are expected to be announced in September.
