The film and video game world mourns the passing of Hayden Panettiere. The American actress, who became famous internationally for TV series such as “Heroes” and “Nashville”, died at the age of 36. Her family confirmed the news in an official statement. In addition to her television and film roles, Panettiere has also had a major impact on the gaming industry. In particular, her role as the protagonist Sam in the PlayStation horror game Until Dawn, as well as her years of voicing the character Kairi in the popular role-playing game series Kingdom Hearts, have made her a highly regarded figure among gamers around the world.

Panettiere’s work in the video game industry spanned many years and left a lasting legacy. One of her most iconic works is the title role in the 2015 Interactve horror film Until Dawn.

Through meticulous performance capture and voice acting, she gave the character of Sam an emotional depth that contributed significantly to the game’s success. She weaves countless emotional nuances into the game’s branching storyline to do justice to the player’s decisions in each situation.

She has also been an integral part of Square Enix’s Kingdom Hearts universe for many years. As a German and British voice, she lent her own identity to the main character Kairi in several major spin-offs of the series and has accompanied the series for generations. Her work helped solidify the intersection between Hollywood actors and high-profile video game production.

Hayden Panettiere is known worldwide primarily for her role as the immortal cheerleader Claire Bennet in the science fiction series Heroes (2006-2010). Another major milestone in her career was the country music drama series Nashville (2012-2018), in which she played rising star Juliette Barnes, for which she was nominated for a Golden Globe. On the big screen, she has made a lasting impression, including popular roles as Coby Reed in the horror franchises Scream 4 (2011) and Scream VI (2023), the drama Breaking All the Rules (2000) with Denzel Washington, and the teen comedy I Love You (Beth, 2009).

In addition to her acting career, Panettiere was in the spotlight many times throughout her life for her social commitments and openness to personal challenges. News of her sudden passing sparked an outpouring of sympathy from fellow players, development studios and fans around the world. She is remembered by millions through her work in film, television and video games.
