In a brief demo video, a man wearing headphones picks up a book from a table and holds it so that the title can be captured by the built-in camera. “With visual intelligence, you can save the world. See something you like? Let me save it for later.”said the voiceover.

The camera in AirPods transmits images to a visual intelligence service, and the Siri voice assistant answers questions about objects around the user and records information. A system notification will warn you if the headphones are covered by hair. “To get the most accurate information about your surroundings, make sure your AirPods are not obstructed.”it says.

Bloomberg analyst Mark Gurman previously reported that the first AirPods with camera model number is B790. According to him, the devices will be available in September, which means they may be released at the launch event alongside the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and the foldable iPhone Ultra. Numerous references to the B790 and other unreleased Apple products were also discovered in macOS Tahoe 26.7.
