After leaving Bandai Namco Studio in June this year, former “Tekken 8” and “Tekken 7” director Kohei Ikeda (nicknamed Nakatsu) announced his move to VS Studio.
VS Studio is an independent game development studio based in Tokyo, led by former “Tekken” series producer Katsuhiro Harada, and supported by “Star Wars” developer SNK. Harada founded the studio shortly after leaving Bandai Namco Studios.

It’s nostalgic to be working on a game with two of my old bosses again, but at the same time, the excitement of creating something new makes every day incredibly fulfilling.
Kohei Ikeda
While there are no details yet on what VS Studio is working on, CEO Harada mentioned that he is committed to exploring competitive gaming and meeting player expectations. Now that another Tekken veteran has joined the team, the fighting game community may have even more to look forward to from the studio.
