Let’s wish her good luck — Brown Dust 2’s new director knows how to “push the boundaries of fan service”

In July 2026, Neowiz introduced Kim Soo-yeon to the public as the new director of Brown Dust 2, joining current director and producer Lee Joon-hee. The appointment attracted widespread attention due to Kim’s industry experience.

For about two years, starting in mid-2024, Kim served as producer on the adult strategy role-playing game Last Origin. During her time as a producer, she earned a reputation for “pushing the boundaries” of fan service in games, and was praised for her contribution to some of the most provocative skins in the game.

Our development team remains fully committed to the creative philosophy we previously described as “innovative vulgarity.” This is one of the reasons why director Kim Soo-yeon joined the team.

My goal is to make Brown Dust 2 more like that and make sure that the charm can be enjoyed longer through the story and content.

When asked whether she plans to approach the game with a bolder or more conservative mindset, Kim said she intends to make bold changes, but only when necessary:

I’ll keep what works well but change what I think needs improvement, without being bound by existing methods. Of course, I think I might face criticism when I try to make big changes. I think this is my responsibility as a director. However, I also don’t think taking any action out of fear of user reaction is a good choice. I am committed to quickly acknowledging and correcting mistakes while continuing to try to make necessary changes.
