The manufacturer has priced the Xiaomi Smart Camera Video Calling Version 2 Video Calling Camera at 429 yuan (approximately $60). The company plans to start raising funds for its productions on its Youpin platform on August 26.
The new camera model is visually very similar to last year’s smart camera video call version, but Xiaomi has updated almost every detail of the device. The camera now features a larger 3.97-inch (previous model was 3.5-inch) color display with a resolution of 480 × 800 pixels. The buttons on the camera body are getting bigger and the feedback is clearer.
The camera supports two-way video calls between the camera and mobile phone and between two cameras. Video calls can be controlled in three ways: gestures, buttons, and automatic connection establishment. The device comes with two microphones, a larger speaker, and a smart noise reduction system.
The second version of Xiaomi Smart Camera Video Call is based on an 8-megapixel sensor and can record videos with a resolution of up to 4K (3840 × 2160 pixels). It also comes with a new panoramic gimbal that allows you to rotate the camera 360 degrees. The camera can also be manually tilted from 0 to 30 degrees, allowing you to cover different parts of a room without moving your device.
The camera is powered by a proprietary 1.5T processor, which Xiaomi says has 50% more processing power than the previous generation device. The additional performance lets you run larger AI models to better capture scenes and detect activity in frames.
Smart Camera Video Call Version 2 can also be used with Xiaomi HyperConnect system. This allows it to connect to other smart home devices. During a video call, users can view live camera footage directly on the screen. Xiaomi also allows users to share camera access with family members.

Xiaomi has also launched a campaign to raise funds and gauge interest from potential buyers for its new compact Bluetooth speaker. The device can be used as a smartphone holder. For this purpose, the device is equipped with a magnetic mount – the speaker can be fixed to the back cover of compatible smartphones, including iPhones. The Bluetooth speaker is priced at 199 yuan (about $30), but early buyers are offering it at 132 yuan (about $20).

Xiaomi has added a Hall sensor to the speaker, which will automatically turn on the speaker when it is detected that it is connected to a mobile phone. The device weighs around 95 grams, so it doesn’t add much weight to the smartphone. The speaker is dome-shaped and covered in a fine mesh with a metal ring, giving it a soft, textured look. Available in black and beige brown. Both variants have a glowing ring around the base that changes colors to blue, purple, and pink. The backlight also reacts to music.

In order to reproduce the sound, the speaker uses a 1.5-inch full-range speaker with a power of 3 W. It’s not meant to replace a larger speaker, but it should be powerful enough to watch movies or play music while the phone is on a table. If one speaker doesn’t seem enough, you can combine two units for a stereo effect. Xiaomi also said that up to 10 speakers can be connected at the same time to create a more powerful sound system.
This speaker has an IP67 protection rating, is equipped with a 650mAh battery, and uses Bluetooth 6.0 for wireless connection. Charging is done via USB-C, but Xiaomi does not include a charging cable or power adapter in the box. Unlike other Xiaomi smart speakers, this model does not support the proprietary Hyper AI voice assistant. In other words, the device does not support voice control.
