A1200 will officially become an Amiga product

Retro Games Ltd announced A1200a new revival of the famous 16-bit computer brigadieryou will be able to officially use amiga brand. The confirmation comes directly from the company, which stated on social media: “The A1200 is officially an Amiga product.” For retro gaming fans, this is an important detail.

Amiga’s future

The company subsequently emphasized the importance of the agreement to the future of the brand: “The Amiga has begun a new chapter. With the recent announcement by Mike Battilana and… Amiga Corporationwe’re excited to see the Amiga brand moving forward with a clear and compact future. We’re proud to be part of this future with the A1200, bringing the Amiga experience to a new generation and celebrating everything that made the original so special. ”

The statement refers to a recent agreement that allows companies such as Retro Games Ltd. and Commodore International to use the Amiga name on their products through specific permission. It’s an important step for a brand that split from its parent company after the Commodore bankruptcy in the 1990s and has had a long and complicated history with rights. Retro Games has created the A500 Mini, a compact replica of the Amiga 500, but the product has yet to officially bear the Amiga name. So, with the A1200, things also changed branding-wise, allowing the company to present the new device as a full-fledged Amiga product.

The project is therefore at a stage where, after decades of ownership changes, the brand appears to be moving towards more coordinated management. For Retro Games, the official use of the name also represents an important element of the new hardware, designed to revive the Amiga 1200 experience for contemporary audiences.
