According to news edge refer to BloombergApple decided to fundamentally rethink the structure of the divisions working on these projects. The team responsible for making games for Vision Pro has been almost completely reduced, and the number of immersive content developers has been significantly reduced. Such measures are seen as a result of the headset’s lukewarm reception in the market, with the $3,490 device failing to become mainstream despite the addition of an M5 processor last year. Apple later suspended joint development with Samsung Display to develop more affordable displays for XR devices.
At the same time, Apple is turning more attention to smart glasses, and interest in smart glasses is growing after the success of the Meta device✴. As 3DNews previously reported, Apple may show off its glasses at WWDC 2027, with a release expected before the end of the same year. Development of Siri also continues, and this year Apple finally showed off a redesigned assistant with artificial intelligence capabilities at WWDC, and its public beta testing should begin soon.
