The Samsara game was released in early August and received good reviews for its gameplay, but when it came to performance, the project had issues. Digital Foundry has released a comparative analysis of games on Xbox Series X | S and Playstation 5 | 5 Pro. Here are the highlights from their videos:
- Quality and performance modes are available on Xbox Series X and Playstation 5. The first mode has a resolution range from 1080p to 1512p, and the second mode has a resolution range of approximately 1080p. Both modes target 60 FPS, but neither has a stable frame rate. On Xbox Series X, however, the average frame rate is 10-12% higher than on Playstation 5.

- There are 3 modes available on Playstation 5 Pro. Performance mode runs around 1080p-1260p, with FSR1 upscaled to 4K, and produces around 45-60 FPS. Quality mode increases the internal resolution to 1620p but reduces the frame rate to around 40-60 FPS. “Enhanced” mode falls in between the two in terms of resolution and FPS, but still keeps graphics settings at the “Quality” level.

- The game had major issues on Xbox Series S, and this version disappointed Digital Foundry. There are 2 modes here as well. When focusing on performance, the resolution range is 360p-720p, and when focusing on quality, the resolution increases to 720p-990p. Upgraded to 1440p. There are huge issues with framerate stability – drops of up to 20 FPS occur when moving between locations, and textures may stop loading at full quality after about 15 minutes of gameplay. Digital Foundry blames the problem on the console’s low memory capacity.
