Developers at Mainframe Studios are back to active work after the summer break and are ready to share details about the upcoming R48 patch for the Pax Dei sandbox. Although the update is relatively minor, it will bring some fresh content to the game as well as some important quality-of-life improvements. As the author points out, the theme of the upcoming update will be the image of the goddess Demira, which will surely be appreciated by connoisseurs of game lore.

The flora and fauna of the virtual world will complement the plant “Seven Blessings” and the elegant creature “Shining Deer”. Mining new resources will allow craftsmen to create unique decorative elements: themed chandeliers, hunting trophies in the shape of deer heads, and Demira’s protective shield. The updated version of the Forest Staff will also expand players’ arsenal, providing greater health buffs and increased resistance to crowd control effects. Additionally, the Shepherd’s Hat will appear in the game, bringing a calming spell to its owner.

The technical part of this patch includes improvements to the user interface, reorganization of the settings menu, and adjustments to the consumable update mechanism. One important innovation will be a redesign of the system for returning items when land leases expire. Now, the property will no longer be tied to a specific region – it can be picked up from anywhere in the current world, which will greatly simplify the moving process. At the same time, the return of goods when canceling a trade order on the market will remain region restricted, so players will not be able to use this mechanic as a free teleport to transport goods across the entire map.

Regarding long-term plans after the release of R48, the studio has conducted an internal re-evaluation of priorities. Currently, the relatively small console team’s main goal is to introduce mounts and modify features for older devices. Almost all available resources were used to create the mount, which is why the work of the fishing mechanic had to be temporarily frozen, although working prototypes already existed.

The developers also noted that from now on they will be changing the way they communicate with the community. The studio no longer plans to announce features in advance to avoid dynamic changes to the roadmap. Now, information about new mechanics will only be released when the team is completely confident in its rapid and successful release.
