SpaceCraft developers are preparing a major update to the production system that will save players from long waits at the workbench. Workshops and smelters will continue to work after the player leaves, and production will be fully queued.
The new system will automatically create the intermediate resources required for the selected recipe, and the interface will display all requirements before production begins. Crafting will be limited to recipes lasting five minutes or less. Automated production will become faster, while manual production will be slower, so both options have their own role: small orders can be done independently, and large batches can be left to the base.
Receiving technology XP will also change. A single resource will receive multiple production stages instead of a hard limit per base. Completing these objectives will bring experience, and upon completion the player will have to master other production chains. This should encourage variety and move away from the odd practice of tearing down a base and rebuilding it to restore progression.
This update will also include the third technology level of advanced warehouses. It will receive 12 drone routes, 5,000 storage units and direct connections to workshops, with resource constraints allowing the warehouse to be specialized. In addition, there will be personal storage space – shared storage that can be used by any website. Now you don’t have to constantly carry your loot or throw it away due to lack of space.
What do you think of these changes?
