The staff at Embark Studios have confirmed that the upcoming fifth expedition in the hugely successful ARC Raiders will initially be the last until early 2027; the content will initially be temporarily paused. The background is that after receiving constant criticism from the community in this regard, the development team must first work on modifications to the relevant systems.
Through expeditions, you can voluntarily exchange your strategy progress for a series of permanent and temporary rewards. However, since the system was launched, the community has not really believed in it. Many players question whether the rewards are worth sacrificing the progress they’ve made.
Embark Studios announced on its blog that the next adventure, from September 8 to 29, will be the last adventure of the year. This adventure remains completely optional.
Otherwise, the feature will undergo more fundamental modifications. In light of the ongoing criticism from the community, we realize that “significant changes” are necessary in order for Expeditions to become an integral and accepted part of future ARC strategies. It’s unclear when the adventure will return in a revised form in 2027.
