Type-Moon and Aniplex have officially announced a new season of the Fate/strange Fake anime. To mark the event, the creators revealed a fresh trailer and new key art. An exact premiere date for the upcoming show has not yet been revealed.

A-1 Pictures remains in charge of producing the series. The director’s chair once again rests with Shun Enokido and Takato Sakazu, with Daisuke Ohashi handling series layout and Yue Yamada adapting character designs based on original illustrations by Shizuka Moritani. The anime’s epic musical accompaniment will be composed by the incomparable and beloved Hiroyuki Sawano. An impressive cast of celebrity voice actors will return to voice their characters, including Kana Hanazawa, Yuki Ono, Tomokazu Seki, Maaya Uchida, and more.

The original Fate/strange Fake, created by Rego Narita, had its unusual beginnings as an April Fool’s Day joke published by the author in 2008. Later, the idea developed into a full-fledged light novel series, with the first volume published in 2015. The story takes place in the American city of Snowfield and revolves around the so-called False Holy Grail War – an imperfect replica of the Third War. This massive conflict pits true and false masters and their servants against each other, creating one of the most chaotic, unpredictable, and combat-filled narratives in the entire Destiny series.
