The public beta version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 has unexpectedly leaked out for PC players. Despite a strong start on Steam, with 115,145 concurrent users, the player count dropped by nearly 50% in just 24 hours to just under 50,000 players, with no sign of recovery anytime soon.
Against the backdrop of online decline, Steam’s Beta score fell to “mixed” (about 45% of negative reviews). In their reviews, players generally complained about balance issues with aim assist, too-fast kill times, strange spawn logic on the maps, and the general dynamics of the project, which some players pointedly likened to “an endless TikTok feed.”
However, the current testing phase is mainly conducted through pre-orders and access codes, so the developers are still hoping to improve the situation by launching a full public beta next week.
