ASUS launches OLED and IPS displays ROG Strix and Swift, with resolutions up to 4K and frequencies up to 920 Hz

ASUS launched three 24.5-inch OLED gaming monitors before Gamescom, including the ROG Swift PG259QWS Ace with a refresh rate of 720Hz. In addition, the company also released two IPS models that support three operating modes. One of the monitors supports a refresh rate of 920 Hz.

Some of the monitor models launching today have been spotted in earlier leaks. We’re specifically talking about the PG259QWS, XG259QDPG and XG259QDNS. The leak correctly reports the display size, resolution, and type of panel used. However, the PG259QWS model is said to support refresh rates higher than 600 Hz. ASUS has now officially confirmed that this monitor supports 720Hz.

ROG Swift OLED PG259QWS Ace uses ASUS TrueBlack Glossy Tandem WOLED technology. The monitor is equipped with a position sensor that measures the monitor’s height, tilt, and rotation angles and then displays these values on the screen. This allows professional gamers to replicate the same monitor position when switching between different configurations.

The displays on display also include two new ROG Strix OLED models. One of them, the XG259QDPG Ace, is equipped with a 24.5-inch RGB QD-OLED screen with a refresh rate of 560Hz. Another model, the XG259QDNS Ace, supports a 360Hz update rate. Both monitors come with ASUS BlackShield anti-glare film. ASUS says the film improves screen scratch resistance by 2.5 times and improves black display by 40% compared to the previous generation of QD-OLED displays.

The manufacturer also launched two 27-inch models equipped with Fast IPS matrix and supporting multiple operating modes. XG27UCMG supports 4K @ 240 Hz, QHD @ 400 Hz and FHD @ 488 Hz. The monitor has a response time of 0.3 milliseconds, offers 95% DCI-P3 color space coverage, and is DisplayHDR 400 certified.

ROG Strix XG27ACNS supports QHD at 475 Hz, FHD at 620 Hz, and HD at 920 Hz. Both monitors are compatible with Nvidia G-Sync image synchronization technology.
