It was announced on August 24 that Crimson Desert from Pearl Abyss has been included in the official nomination list for the 2026 Gamescom Awards. The product claims to have won awards in two prestigious categories simultaneously – “The Most Epic” and “Best Computer Games”. Applicants are selected from all projects presented in the entertainment area of the show by an international jury of gaming journalists and content producers.
In the most epic category, Crimson Desert will compete with Metro: 2039, Stranger Than Heaven, Tides of Annihilation, and Total War: Warhammer 40,000. In the “Best PC Game” category, the game will compete with Alien: Isolation 2, Guns of Eskton, Metro: 2039, and Total War: Warhammer 40,000. Additionally, the list of nominees in the Healthiest category includes Piccolo Studio’s Age Twister game, published by KRAFTON.
The absolute leader in the number of nominations (five) is Metro: 2039SEGA Publishing received a total of eight nominations at once through multiple projects. The Gamescom 2026 exhibition will be held in Cologne, Germany from August 26th to 30th, and public voting for the winners in multiple categories will open on the official website on August 26th.
