GIANTS Software has reviewed the modding principles in Farming Simulator 25 and emphasized that the mods themselves should remain free. At the same time, developers are not opposed to authors being paid for their work and developing their own communities.

The ban includes paid subscriptions to Patreon and other services, closed roles and channels in Discord, VIP access, paid early access, forced download donations, the sale of individual mods and assemblies, artificial limits on download speeds, and paid add-on materials such as shaders and textures. GIANTS Software believes that money should not be a condition for accessing user content.

In the meantime, authors can still accept voluntary donations, monetize videos and other content, and use official ModHub features. The developers consider open modding to be one of the series’ strengths, as it helps the community grow, share ideas, and allow all players to be creative. GIANTS Software promises to continue to find ways to support modders while maintaining the main principle: authors should be rewarded, but the mods themselves should remain free.

Do you think modders should only accept voluntary donations or have the right to strictly monetize their creations?
